 Concordia Lutheran Church is a "Sending Congregation." This means that our worshippers leave the Concordia building to get out as God's agents building God's family. This is not always an easy task. There are some people Jesus could not reach. In the Gospel lesson we visit the second time our Lord preached in His hometown synagogue. And for the second time, His message and ministry there were heckled and rejected. Soon after, Jesus sent the disciples on a mission of healing and preaching. Whether it is in our hometown or at some other point along our sojourn, in home or office, Main Street or market place, we will come across people who are not warm on the message we have to share with them. We can, nevertheless, leave our mark with them, a witness of love and concern that may eventually find its way into their hearts. There are times when our deeds of love proclaim more loudly and effectively the Gospel of God's love than do our words. Join us in worship as we hear words of sending, mission, and God's love as it reaches into our lives and the lives of others.
