The Gundermann Award
This is an annual grant given to a Concordia member in honor of the ministry of Rev. Vernon Gundermann, Pastor at Concordia Lutheran Church in Kirkwood from 1990-2005. Each year Concordias Human Care Board will select an award recipient who demonstrates, either through his/her vocation or volunteer experience, exceptional involvement in human care outreach to the congregation and/or community. The recipient will actively be involved with touching people with Jesus Christ by compassionately responding to physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Forms to nominate at located in the Lobby at Concordia. Must be submitted to Concordias Human Care Board by March 1, 2010. The Human Care Board will select the recipient, with the award being given during a worship service to be announced.
Criteria to be considered include but may not be limited to:
- Active and consistent involvement in responding to needs of others.
- Christian service in the community as it relates to human care ministries.
- Enhances Concordias presence as an active, caring congregation locally, regionally, or globally.
